Isabella discovers rice cereal!!!~~~
Isabella's a lucky girl - she's been fed by her Ama, her Grandma LeLe and her Grandpa D. Today her teacher Miss Elizabeth fed her for the first time at school and said she was a great eater! We can't wait to start with the other foods!! :)

Izzy goes to School!!
Oct 4th was Izzy's first day of school. It was so hard for Marcos and I to leave her, but she was so brave and she did so well! In fact, she did so well the teachers were even surprised. They told us how lucky we were to have such a happy, calm, smiley baby. :) It's now been roughly two weeks and Izzy is still really enjoying her school. She loves having a routine and she's already making friends.
During her first week at school she did an art project that involved her laying tummy down on a boppy pillow and rubbing red, orange and yellow paint all over a piece of paper. The teachers then cut out a leaf from the paper and hung it on a branch inside the classroom. The picture below is a snapshot of her artwork prior to it being cut into the shape of a leaf. The teachers said she was so in to the paint she had it stuck under her finger nails!!

Izzy goes to Minneapolis
What a fun, fantastic weekend we had with Uncle and Aunt Juji! From morning walks to the neighborhood pastry shop, to cruising around the boutiques on 50th and France, to a wonderfully long walk around the lake that put the babe to sleep - it was an awesome, relaxed weekend. We can't wait to go back!
Congrats to Julian and Jill on their engagement and we are so excited to return for their fall wedding next year!!!

Sleep Regression
So apparently right around the age of 4 months a lot of babies go through what is called Sleep Regression. At first I just thought Isabella was growing, but then after the 2 night of no sleep and a restless baby I did some serious research. I found out that around this age most babies start sleeping more like adults, so having more cycles of REM and light sleep. When you couple this with the babies new abilities to roll over, move around and fuss about in the crib you get yourself a nice sleepless night. Thanks to all my other mom friends out there and their advice, plus all the online research - I think tonight is the first night Izzy might sleep longer than 2 hours at a time. Ironically however I cannot sleep and I am posting to this damn blog at 3 a.m! Hope all the little kiddos out there and their mommies are all sleeping tight right now - here's hoping that we've figured out a way to break the sleep regression spell!

Izzy goes to San Fran part Two
Dinner at Skates with the family. Hana's favorite place to meet, eat and catch up with family. Flying with Uncle Carlo as Daddy Marcos looked on concerned...
Back at the bay walking with the baby. Boys being goofy.
Cuddling with Daddy in the mornings before watching the fog roll in from the city.

Izzy goes to San Fran!!
This post is way overdue! Isabella took her first trip to SF to visit her Great Grandma Hana two weeks ago. She did really well on the flight out and was a great baby the whole visit. She had a chance to meet Angelo and hang with her two Uncles Carlo and Freddy. The whole visit was wonderful and Isabella came back with her new nick name 'La Reina' which means The Queen, courtesy of her Hana.
La Reina featured below -
Izzy enjoyed watching the fog roll in over the Berkeley hills with her YaYa
Meeting the Cat in the Hat with her Uncle Carlo
...and hanging outside with her Uncle Freddy
We HAD to take Miss Iz on a walk down at the bay - her YaYa's favorite place to stroll with Angelo. Uncle Carlo insisted on 'wearing' Izzy.
That evening we took Isabella to Skates - Hana's restaurant on the bay. Here is Iz with her dad all dolled up.
More to come....Look for Izzy goes to SF Part II

Baby Einstein
Little Miss Izz has discovered the wonderful world of Baby Einstein! She's totally fascinated by images on TV which is awesome when I am trying to cook dinner. Here's a pic of her checking out the video and hanging with Mr. Kihei. I can't wait until she's old enough to be into Sesame Street.

The Many Colors of Isabella
For those of you who did not get to see these pics, I am posting them again. I took these pics over a 30 second time span - this crazy kid has more facial expressions than her dad and I combined.
Park Day!
Izzy loves going to parks! Yesterday we spent the afternoon at Evan G. Fine park in Boulder - so strange to take our little baby back to a park we romped around in when we were little. It was fun to hang with the family too and watch each person hold Izzy and show her things. Can't wait for next summer when she's 1 year old and digging around in the dirt.

Woke up with the snuffles
Poor little Bella woke up with her first cold :( - after a visit to the pediatrician we found out that it's a mini cold. She does not have a fever but doesn't seem to like having a stuffy nose too much. Elephante doesn't seem to like it either because he now has extra slobber on him from Isabella's adventure on her jungle mat today. Stuffy nose = lots of extra slobber.
Isabella also rolled over for the first time today!!! See action shot above 'mid role' we'll call it.

Pool Day
Last weekend was Izzy's first adventure to the pool! She sported quite a hairdo thanks to waterbabies sunscreen. Izzy spent her time relaxing on her Giraffe blankie and taking in the sounds of the kids playing.
